Lahti is especially well known for winter sports, both in Finland and abroad. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships will take place in Lahti for the seventh time in 2017 – perhaps a world record in its own right. The ski jumps in the Ski Championships arena are iconic of the city and its people and traditions.
